Project Director

Carey Jewitt (London Knowledge Lab, Institute of Education, University of London). Carey is Professor of Technology and Learning, and Head of Department Culture, Communication and Media. She has a BA in Fine Art, an MSc in social research methods, and a PhD in Technology and education. Carey is skilled in qualitative research methods with particular specialism in visual analysis, multimodality, ethnography and case studies; and knowledge of arts and social research methods.

Project Co-Investigators

Sara Price (London Knowledge Lab, Institute of Education, University of London). Sara is a Reader in Technology Enhanced Learning at the IoE. She holds a BA and DPhil in Psychology. Her experience encompasses the design, development and evaluation of emerging digital technologies (mobile, tangible, sensor), exploring ways in which they can enhance learning through mediating new forms of thinking and reasoning; simulation in medical education; and the development of methodological approaches in HCI.

Douglas Atkinson (Fashion Digital Studio, London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London). Douglas is Innovation Research Fellow at London College of Fashion. He holds a BA in Fashion, and a MA in Digital Fashion. His expertise includes sensory perception (texture & touch); digital fashion design and manufacturing processes; and HCI critical and usability design methods.

Sue Broadhurst (Centre Contemporary and Digital Performance, Brunel University). Sue is Professor of Performance and Technology. She holds a First Class Honours Degree in English and Comparative Literature, and a PhD in the same. Her areas of research expertise are embodiment and performance and associated theorisation; neuroaesthetics; the aesthetic potential of digitized technology for performance (artificial intelligence, motion capture, 3D modelling and animation, and real-time interaction); and bioart.

Kevin Walker (Information Experience Program / School of Communication, Royal College of Art). Kevin is Programme Director of Information Experience Design at the RCA. He holds a BA in Anthropology/Mass Communications, an MPS in Interactive Communications, and a PhD in Education and Technology. He specialises in art and design methods; exhibition design; curation; participatory design; and mobile/sensory.

Project Staff

Anna Xambó (London Knowledge Lab, Institute of Education, University of London). Anna is a Research Officer based at the LKL, working in the MIDAS project. She is currently completing her PhD in Music Computing and HCI. She specialises in music technology and HCI methods; visual, ethnographic and interaction analysis; and practice-based methods.
